I would expect to get a better machine that yours plus the 40 you want to spend for about 60.Upgrading your own PC does require some knowledge and of course there's the issue of damaging something in the process. The Dell Inspiron 530s has 4 sockets RAM expansion slots, where you may install new memory, either by removing the existing installed RAM or adding memory to the free slot available. The important thing to consider while upgrading the Dell Inspiron 530s is to get the best from a Computer memory retailer.

Those processors are around 10 on e Bay so it seems like an easy and ideal upgrade but I had a look on my motherboard and could not even locate the E6550 processor. Again, if there is somewhere I can confirm this kind of information that would be great because it doesn't seem like Dell offers much support in this area.I have found 2gb and 4gb DDR2 sticks on e Bay for less than 10 with reputable brands (e.g.Corsair) so this upgrade will not be costly at all.I considered buying a new PC but I realised that it will only cost about 30-40 to upgrade this PC so that I can go online and play people using the emulator, and that's all I'm really looking to do.Here are the current specs: System Model: Dell Inspiron 530 System OS: Windows 7 64-bit Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6550 2.33 Ghz RAM: x2 512MB PC2-5300U Graphics Card: NVIDIA Ge Force 8600 GT or NVIDIA Ge Force 7900 GS Motherboard: Foxconn G33M02 I think the best order of upgrading for the PC would be RAM, then CPU, then graphics card, and monitoring the FPS after each upgrade to see if upgrading further is necessary (graphics card may not be) - let me know if you disagree.
